For enhanced safety, the front and rear seat shoulder belts of the Bentley Continental GT have pretensioners to tighten the seatbelts and eliminate dangerous slack in the event of a collision and force limiters to limit the pressure the belts will exert on the passengers. The Porsche 911 doesn’t offer pretensioners for its rear seat belts.

The Continental GT’s pre-crash front seatbelts will tighten automatically in the event the vehicle detects an impending crash, improving protection against injury significantly. The 911 doesn’t offer pre-crash pretensioners.

The Bentley Continental GT has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The 911 doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Continental GT has standard front and rear seat side-impact airbags and head airbags, which act as a forgiving barrier between the passengers and the door. For better traction, the Continental GT has larger tires than the 911 (F:275/35R22 & R:315/30R22 vs. F:235/40R19 & R:295/35R20).

The Continental GT’s 275/35R22 front and 315/30R22 rear tires provide better handling because they have a lower 35 series front and 30 series rear profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the 911 Dakar’s standard 45 series front and 40 series rear tires.

For better ride, handling and brake cooling the Continental GT has standard 22-inch wheels. Smaller 19-inch front and 20-inch rear wheels are standard on the 911. The 911’s largest wheels are only 20-inches in the front and 21-inches in the rear.

The Continental GT offers an optional space-saver spare tire so you can replace a flat tire and drive to have the flat repaired or replaced. A spare tire isn’t available on the 911; it requires you to depend on roadside assistance and your vehicle will have to be towed.

The front and rear suspension of the Continental GT uses air springs for a smoother, controlled ride than the 911, which uses coil springs. Air springs maintain proper ride height and ride more smoothly.

The Continental GT offers an available adjustable active suspension system, which counteracts cornering forces actively, limiting body roll and improving handling and stability. Porsche doesn’t offer an active suspension on the 911.

The Continental GT has a standard automatic front and rear load leveling suspension to keep ride height level with a heavy load or when towing. The Continental GT’s height leveling suspension allows the driver to raise ride height for better off-road clearance and then lower it again for easier entering and exiting and better on-road handling. The design of the Bentley Continental GT amounts to more than styling. The Continental GT offers aerodynamic coefficients of drag from .29 to .32 Cd (depending on bodystyle and options). The Continental GT has a standard remote vehicle starting system, so the vehicle can be started from inside the driver's house. This allows the driver to comfortably warm up the engine before going out to the vehicle. The climate system will also automatically heat or cool the interior. The 911 doesn’t offer a remote starting system.

Unlike the driver-only memory system optional at extra cost in the 911, the Continental GT has standard driver and passenger memory, so that when drivers switch, the memory setting adjusts the driver’s seat, steering wheel position, outside mirror angle, climate settings and radio stations and the front passenger seat also adjusts to the new passenger’s preset preferences.

The Continental GT’s standard easy entry system raises the steering wheel and glides the driver’s seat back, making it easier for the driver to get in and out. An easy entry system costs extra on the 911.

The Continental GT offers an optional heads-up display that projects speed and navigation instruction readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The 911 doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Continental GT’s standard power windows have a locking feature to keep children in the rear seat from operating them, but the driver can still raise and lower all of them with the lock engaged. Porsche does not offer a locking feature on the 911’s standard power windows.

If the windows are left open on the Continental GT the driver can close them all at the outside door handle. On a hot day the driver can also lower the windows the same way. The driver of the 911 can only operate the windows from inside the vehicle, with the ignition on.

The Continental GT has standard Keyless Access that allows you to unlock the doors from either outside door handle, open the trunk, and start the car, all without removing the key from the pocket or purse. The 911 GT3 doesn’t offer Comfort Access.

To shield the driver and passenger’s vision over a larger portion of the windshield, the Continental GT offers an available center sun visor to cover the area between the driver and front passenger visors. The 911 can’t effectively block glare in the center of its windshield.

The Continental GT offers optional massaging front seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging seats aren’t available in the 911.

For greater rear passenger comfort, the Continental GT has standard rear heat vents to keep rear occupants more comfortable. The 911 doesn’t offer rear vents.
