The Rolls-Royce Ghost has standard driver and front passenger side knee airbags mounted low on the dashboard. These airbags help prevent the driver and front passenger from sliding under their seatbelts or the main frontal airbags; this keeps them better positioned during a collision for maximum protection. Knee airbags also help keep the legs from striking the dashboard, preventing knee and leg injuries in the case of a serious frontal collision. The Emeya doesn’t offer knee airbags.

The Ghost has standard Active Head Restraints, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the Active Head Restraints system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. At the same time the pretensioning seatbelts fire, removing slack from the belts. The Emeya doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

The Ghost has standard Active Park Distance Control that uses rear sensors to monitor for objects to the rear and automatically applies the brakes to prevent a collision. The Emeya doesn’t offer automatic braking for stationary objects directly to the rear.

Both the Ghost and the Emeya have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, all wheel drive, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, post-collision automatic braking systems, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, blind spot warning systems, around view monitors, rear cross-path warning and driver alert monitors.

The Ghost comes with a full 4-year/unlimited-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car. The Emeya’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year sooner.

The Ghost comes with free roadside assistance for 4 years unlimited miles. Rolls-Royce will send help if you run out of gas, need a jump-start, lock your keys in or need any assistance on the road. Lotus doesn’t give free roadside assistance for the Emeya.

Rolls-Royce pays for scheduled maintenance on the Ghost for 4 years and unlimited miles. Rolls-Royce will pay for oil changes, tire rotations, air filter replacements, cabin filter replacement, brake fluid replacement, inspections, and any other required maintenance. Lotus doesn’t pay scheduled maintenance for the Emeya.

An eight-speed automatic is standard on the Rolls-Royce Ghost, for better acceleration and lower engine speed on the highway. Only a 2-speed automatic is available for the Emeya.

Changing a flat tire near traffic can be dangerous and inconvenient. The run-flat tires available on the Ghost can be driven up to 50 miles without any air pressure, allowing you to drive to a service station for a repair. The Emeya doesn’t offer run-flat tires.

For a smoother ride and more stable handling, the Ghost’s wheelbase is 8.9 inches longer than on the Emeya (129.7 inches vs. 120.8 inches). The Ghost Extended’s wheelbase is 15.2 inches longer than on the Emeya (136 inches vs. 120.8 inches).

The Rolls-Royce Ghost may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 150 to 250 pounds less than the Lotus Emeya.

With its sedan body style, valet key and remote trunk release lockout, the Ghost offers cargo security. The Emeya’s hatchback body style and non-lockable folding seat defeat cargo security.

A Condition-Based Service Display is standard on the Ghost to save the owner time and money by calculating maintenance intervals based on actual driving conditions. This takes the guesswork out of keeping your vehicle in top condition and helps it last longer. Lotus doesn’t offer a maintenance reminder on the Emeya.

Heated windshield washer nozzles are standard on the Ghost to prevent washer fluid and nozzles from freezing and help continue to keep the windshield clear in sub-freezing temperatures. The Emeya doesn’t offer heated windshield washer nozzles.

In poor weather, headlights can lose their effectiveness as grime builds up on their lenses. This can reduce visibility without the driver realizing. The Ghost has standard headlight washers to keep headlight output high. The Emeya doesn’t offer headlight washers.

A power rear sunshade and rear side window sunshades are optional in the Ghost to help block heat and glare for the rear passengers. The Emeya doesn’t offer a rear or rear side window sunshades.

Both the Ghost and the Emeya offer optional massaging front seats. The Ghost also offers optional massaging rear seats in order to maximize comfort and eliminate fatigue on long trips. Massaging rear seats aren’t available in the Emeya.
